Laboratory Diagnosis and Evaluation

Naturopathic Diagnosis and Evaluation - Test Tubes

In order to obtain a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of current health status, our naturopathic doctors will evaluate a variety of diagnostic procedures. Patients will complete a detailed health history questionnaire, undergo a thorough physical exam, and receive an individualized panel of lab testing involving blood, urine, saliva, stool and/or hair analysis. Our naturopathic doctors will then look at the totality of the results of these procedures to come to a comprehensive diagnosis for each of our patients. Below is a list of common lab services offered at our clinic as well as a brief description of when we may chose to use each one. One or more of these tests, as well as other standard testing options, may or may not be chosen based on your individual health presentation. Lab Services:

Allergy Testing
A simple blood test can indicate the presence of any food or environmental sensitivities that are contributing to your current state of health.  An E95 blood panel is routinely ran to assess for immune reactions to food, in the diagnosis of food sensitivities.

Complete Blood Count and other Blood Indices
Routine blood testing is often performed by Naturopathic Doctors to assess health and aid in the diagnosis of disease.

Hormone Testing
A comprehensive thyroid hormone function panel will evaluate the current functioning of the thyroid gland, which is involved in proper metabolism in the body. Saliva testing will evaluate stress, male or female hormone levels in the body, allowing our doctors to focus treatment on restoring hormone balance, which will help to improve your mood, sleep, and sexual function.

Heavy Metal Testing
High levels of Mercury, Lead and other heavy metals have been associated with chronic disease including cardiovascular disease. An assessment of the amount of heavy metals stored in the body will determine chronic toxin exposure and the need for chelation therapy, which removes stored heavy metals from the body safely and effectively.

Nutritional Status Assessment
A variety of both standard and progressive testing in conjunction with in-depth dietary analysis will determine the status of key nutritional components (fats, protein, and carbohydrates) as well as many vitamins and minerals in the body, including zinc and iron, which can aid in indicating any potential deficiencies that may be contributing to your current health status.
