If you’ve ever experienced severe or chronic pain, you already know why pain is among the strongest motivational forces there is.  Even though pain hurts you, it is really a vital protective mechanism with the intention of helping you.  It alerts you to problems requiring immediate attention.  But when it over-reacts or lingers, it becomes a nuisance that follows you everywhere you go, impacting everything you do.  Whether your pain arises from a physical injury or a disease process, or you are tired of constantly taking pain medications, our Pain Management Program can help.  We routinely treat pain originating from:

  • Sprains, strains, fractures from sports, motor vehicle, and/or other injuries;
  • Nerve root compressions, bulging discs, neuralgia;
  • Chemotherapy and radiation;
  • Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Chronic Pain Syndrome;
  • Migraine, cluster, and tension headaches;
  • Crohn’s, colitis, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome;
  • Chronic joint diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis

Our treatment program understands and addresses that pain is not just physical, but also emotional and psychological.  Successful reduction or elimination of the

pain sensation occurs in stages.  It begins by identifying the cause of pain through physical examination, in depth questioning, and routine lab testing.  We then focus on addressing and correcting lifestyle and dietary factors that intensify or worsen pain by adding inflammatory mediators to the body.  Anti-inflammatory supplements are often used as an aid.  Physical therapies such as acupuncture, soft tissue work, and joint manipulation are then used to palliate and treat the pain.  Throughout the treatment process, we work with patients to understand the psychogenic effect of pain, to identify emotional triggers that intensify pain, and to learn self-help techniques to change the perception of pain.

When pain is reduced, prevention and maintenance become the focus.  This may include exercise/strengthening, counseling, dietary monitoring, supplements, and/or maintenance treatments.  The completion of our Pain Management Program will not only result in reduced pain, but also a healthier life through improved nutrition, elimination or reduction of pain medications, and a strong foundation for mental/emotional balance.  Call now to book your appointment!
