Evelyn has over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in individual and group settings. She uses a collaborative, attachment-based therapeutic approach to help support clients who are experiencing challenges in their lives and relationships. She strives to provide a non-judgmental safe environment and uses her clinical skills to assist people to work through difficult and traumatic experiences. She is experienced in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, addiction, and trauma as well as other mental health and relationship issues.
Evelyn graduated from the University of Guelph with an honours degree in Psychology as well as in Family Relations and Human Development. She then completed a Masters of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. She has experience working at a family counselling agency, with the school board, and in a community mental health agency. Her background in both psychology and social work enables her to consider a variety of contributing factors when engaging in therapy. Evelyn is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Evelyn grew up in Elora and moved back here 13 years ago after spending a number of years in Texas. She is involved in the community and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is excited about joining the team at Optimal Wellness as she has a holistic approach and recognizes the important connection between mental, physical, and emotional health. She looks forward to working with other team members to help clients achieve good health outcomes and a better quality of life.
