Beating Winter Blues Overview
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is fairly prevalent in the winter months of the northerly latitudes around the world. SAD is believed to be caused by lower light exposure due to shorter days and more time spent indoors. This lecture discusses the cause of SAD in terms of light exposure and disruptions in the circadian rhythm. By making lifestyle adjustments, SAD suffers can effectively alleviate depressive symptoms by regulating their body rhythms, and permitting more normal activity in the winter.
